Reflections

We may do what seems the right thing but what matters most is whether our hearts are in the right place before God. God warned in Old Testament times that even the very ceremonies that God required would become offensive to Him.

Isaiah 66:3 (NIV) But whoever sacrifices a bull is like one who kills a man, and whoever offers a lamb, like one who breaks a dog’s neck; whoever makes a grain offering is like one who presents pig’s blood, and whoever burns memorial incense, like one who worships an idol. They have chosen their own ways, and their souls delight in their abominations;

This occurs when we have chosen in our hearts to go our own ways, rather than God's ways. When we inwardly rebel though outwardly we may still do what seem right. May we always watch our hearts before God!
